John Merrihew has served as the Principal Investigator on a dozen different Artificial Intelligence projects in the US Army in the domains of data analytics, operations/intelligence fusion, UAV automatous operations and human terrain.
He is a retired Lieutenant Colonel Army Aviator who served 24 years in the United States Army in numerous positions.
John is a 4 time combat veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom with 113 combat sorties and over 1300 combat hours over Iraq. He had command and staff positions at multiple levels in the US Army.
He served in Infantry, Field Artillery, Aviation (Cavalry, Attack and Lift).
John has extensive practical combat experience in intelligence fusion for warfighters at the tactical edge and is a qualified Joint Operational Planning.
NEIL DE GUZMAN
CEO – IMARC
Neil is a globally recognized pioneer in the application of intelligent agents in the energy industry. He led the introduction of Intelligent Agents and autonomous in-well robots in the Oil & Gas industry where he holds patents for associative intelligent systems and is the co-author of numerous Society of Petroleum Engineering papers.
Neil has established strategic alliances with major corporations for development of Intelligent Agents and autonomous in-well robots including Baker Hughes, BP, Halliburton, Marathon, Shell and Statoil.
Neil has served as a consultant for the World Bank in transitioning Eastern Europe to a market economy and is President & CEO of IMARC which provides cyber forensic services for Fortune 100 companies.
Mr. de Guzmán has experience in the Development of business ventures for various industries, including the photographic industry, paper industry, and information technology for companies in the health care, utility and refining industries and has established more than 35 companies.
His work in corporations was as Latin American Regional manager for Polaroid and Kimberly Clark’s international marketing manager for the Caribbean and Central America.
Neil has an MBA from Columbia University, Master in International Marketing from Thunderbird School of Global Management, and BA in Economics from St. Laurence University.
President & CEO – Veloxiti Commercial Corporation
Mr. Larry Lafferty has 30 years of experience in software engineering, research and development. He has conducted research and development for several commercial products in the machine learning and other AI domains.
During the early 1990’s, Mr. Lafferty was the technical lead for the Tactics Planner module on the DARPA – USAF Pilot’s Associate program. Following this project he helped developed air campaign planning tools in conjunction with the USAF Checkmate group. He was the Chief Systems Engineer for the JFACC Jumpstart effort and worked with the DARPA management team during the follow-on effort.
Beginning in the late 1990’s, Mr. Lafferty worked with ISX Corporation as part of the experiment planning team for DARPA’s Command Post of the Future. He moved from this project in 2000 to the Active Templates program, a DARPA effort that focused on development of scalable distributed infrastructures for mission planning and execution.
In addition to work in the DoD community, Mr. Lafferty led the development of 2 commercial products, including a monitoring and surveillance system for the oil industry and an equipment diagnosis system for industrial and military use. He currently serves as President & CEO of Veloxiti Commercial Corporation.
Chief Financial Officer (CFO)
With a strong background in management, finance, human resources, and operations, Beth has provided executive level strategic support for small government contractors in the Denver, Washington D.C., and Atlanta areas.
Beth has over 13 years of experience in financial management, corporate accounting, contract analysis, budgeting, forecasting and price proposals. She has extensive knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), and has successfully established and implemented sound financial systems contributing to the rapid growth of several small federal contracting companies.
Beth has successfully negotiated and established approved indirect rates for these firms with their cognizant federal agencies, and has served as the Corporate Controller where she has successfully managed sales and contract profitability.
Beth leads by example, and is one that rolls up her sleeves to get the job done by finding solutions to what keeps the CEO and other executive members up at night.Beth is a graduate of the University of Colorado with an MBA in Finance and Accounting from Regis University in Colorado. She has a unique ability to communicate and bring people together, and loves to accomplish what others say can’t be done.
